in many ways, this place merits a 5. There are signs of old age and usage, but I think that you would have to go to many, many places and still not find nicer people working at a hotel. The ladies at the desk are fantastic, the folks helping out at the breakfast place are exceptionally nice. Literally everyone working here has a smile and exudes warmth. The breakfast offerings are great. i had misgivings, but we needed a place in Atlanta that had parking so that we could go in and out. Picked this, and the low price was concerning. The room is fine, clean and not a problem.

I love the staff ! Each visit I always run into the GM and every time I come from Chicago she always make sure I’m well taken care of, the front desk staff always have great energy especially that Kirk ! Kirk always have a smile he is such an inspiration honestly and always know what to say to make a sorrow day bright. I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Atlanta. First humiliation from a hotel in 61 years of travels

Without going as far as my first Pan Am flight with my parents in 1947, I started traveling on my own when I was 19 years old. That means that I have been traveling for 61 years, since I am now 80 years old. Since I have had very bad experiences in those 61 years of travel, sleeping in what they call “Single Rooms” in London, which are half way between the traditional English phone booth and a closet, I adopted a method that had always proved efficient… Until Saturday, June 17, 2023. When I don’t know the hotel, instead of reserving two or more nights in a row, I split my stay in two or three separate reservations. This way, if I’m satisfied, I just go downstairs in the morning, show that I have another confirmed reservation and make the check-out for the previous night and the check-in for the next night. For the past forty years, this method had always worked. In 99% of the cases they did the check-out / check-in operation in the morning, and in some very rare cases they did it when I returned in the evening, as I could not get back to my room with the previous key anyway. HOWEVER, when I tried to do the same thing at the COMFORT INN ATLANTA DOWNTOWN SOUTH on Saturday, June 17, 2023 right after breakfast, showing the front desk clerk that I had another reservation for a second night, confirmed and guaranteed with their own WELLS FARGO CHOICE HOTELS MC, he refused to do it because the check-out would take place at 11 am and the check in at 3 pm. So I told him that we would do everything when I would return from Atlanta that evening and went back to my room. Then, shortly before 11 am I went down and crossed the street to wait for bus 49 that would take me to Five Points train station downtown. After waiting for a bus that didn’t come, since the next one would not pass before 15 minutes, I thought that I might as well go back to the lobby and wait there, rather than standing under the summer sun. THEN, the same clerk who had refused to do the check-out/check-in operation two hours before, told me that he had taken my luggage out of the room because the check-out had to be done at 11 am! HOWEVER, HE NEVER, EVER, TOLD ME that I would have to pack my things, go downstairs at 11 am with my luggage, then wait patiently until 3 pm before being able to go back to the room for which I had a confirmed, guaranteed reservation!!! Fortunately, since 1990 I have adopted the habit of packing my luggage every morning in order to be ready to run away, so everything was in my carryon. But what if I had taken my clothes out of the suitcase? I don’t dare to think what would have happened. To make a long story short, I left him my carryon and went downtown, where I started looking for another hotel that Saturday night and, as soon as I found it, I cancelled my second night with this hotel, where you must pack your things, go down at 11 am, then patiently wait until 3 pm to check-in again and go back to your room! This was possible because, as a very experienced traveler, I NEVER accept to reserve in a place where the cancellation policy takes place 24 or even 48 hours before arrival. If the cancellation cannot be done the DAY OF ARRIVAL by at least 4 pm (ACCOR HOTELS like Ibis, Mercure, Novotel, Sofitel, etc., have a 6 pm DOA policy), then I do NOT reserve and find another place. To stress the awkwardness of what this hotel did to me, I must say that, for the past twenty years, I have maintained the GOLD STATUS on CHOICE HOTELS, even reaching the PLATINUM STATUS during some years and that, among our privileges, there is a COMPLIMENTARY LATE CHECK OUT (which they do NOT respect!) and a COMPLIMENTARY EARLY CHECK-IN, which they do NOT respect either! It’s a shame because this hotel is very well served by public transportation, with bus 49 at the door and two more routes within a couple of blocks to go downtown Atlanta. But I cannot accept to be kicked out at 11 am and deprived of the room I pay between 11 am and 3 pm!

This hotel was good The staff are very friendly The twin queen bed room was roomy and the bed was comfortable. The microwave could do with a clean Breakfast was good . We had a car so it was easy to get around Not sure what you would do without one . The rooms were quiet

I went to this hotel May 9-10. Well... really just May 9th. This hotel was disgusting, when we showed up and got to our first room, we were immediately hit with a strong smell of cigarettes, and stains all over the bed, and holes in the walls that looked like a blind person patched. So I went to the lobby and talked to the person at the front desk and got us a different room because it was that bad, the 2nd room was if not worse, just as bad as the 1st, there was bloodstains on the sheets, stains on the floor and curtains, and 2 nice holes in the ceiling. We never even took our shoes off it was that bad. Please do not stay here... please... I even got a partial refund, that still has yet to hit my account 2 weeks later.
